A very stylish vintage tooled gilt metal and enamel cigarette lighter, by Cartier,

Opening hinged top reveals horizontal flint wheel and automatically exhausts gas in readiness of the spark.  Closing top extinguishes the flame.
Of rectangular rounded corner form, the underside signed Cartier, with PARIS and number beneath, flint bar with integral spring with folding twist access, countersunk flap for fluid access.
 
The main body with exceptional tooling, central shaped raised panels featuring tooling with flowering urns on Trafalgar blue enamel ground, hinged top with similar smaller urn and the sides with leaf point swags on same enamel ground, repeated to base band, with the remaining body having raised tooled leaf point swags to the fine gilt metal and interlocking branches terminating with scrolls, all on petit point tooled ground on rich hue.
 
size - 2.3/4in. high, 1in. wide, 7/16in. deep - (7 x 2.5 x 1.2cm)
